How Snag handles inspection information.

Information used

Snag can store inspection/project information, photographs, findings, assignments, close-out records, receipt/cost evidence and reports you choose to enter.

Account sync

A Snag account is used for access and the 7-day trial. Inspection records are local-first and synced through Snag’s private backend when online. Sign in with the same Snag account on another PC, phone or tablet to access the account’s synced jobs.

AI

AI features are optional and user-invoked. Google Gemini is the recommended BYO AI provider and OpenAI is available as an alternative. The provider API key is stored only on that browser/device and is not included in inspection backups or reports. When an AI feature is used, the minimum relevant text, photograph or audio needed for the requested drafting task and the provider key are sent through the Netlify function to the selected provider for that request. Review all generated output before relying on it.

External accounts

This standalone release does not request access to third-party drive-storage accounts.
